Lounge Ligand Quilts
The twelve Lounge Ligand quilts are composed of a scanned black-and-white drawing from my notebook endpapers, printed on velvet and appliquéd with a ligand (a small binding molecule that triggers a large impact) printed on silk, and a patch of translucent colour (alluding to phosphorylation). On the reverse are unique Interactome Patterns printed on cotton, appliquéd with felt versions of the Sydney Ducks supporting characters, and a unique machine embroidered ‘ligand’, built around a piece of scientific jargon.
