Hilary Mantel Megamix
5.30 - 6.15pm
Saturday 20th November 2021
A new performance as part of the opening of Jezreel's Tower

A new performance, part improvisation, part narrative obstacle course, in which John Walter uses a jestered form of drag to take on a new alter ego, Melanie Catfish. Using costume, song, and projection Walter combines imagery and songs related to Walter’s Jezreel’s Tower and SOUTHCOTTIAN artworks, mashed up with other sources dredged from the bottom of his current memepool.

I have designed two t-shirts for Positive East to help support the work they are doing to end HIV and stigma. Please visit their online shop now to buy your t-shirt!

In the summer of 2020, Positive East approached 14 artists, both local and international, whose works are rooted in tackling social injustice, championing LGBTQ+ equality and fighting HIV stigma, to create or choose an image that they felt represented the mission of the Charity. We wanted to explore the intersection between HIV activism and visual artistry; demonstrating how artistic expression has helped shape the cultural and political response to HIV, from the pandemic’s origins in1981 to the present day.
